Goodreads - alright!

I signed up for Goodreads via my Facebook account, which makes it really easy to communicate with friends. I actually have been looking for a book to read, so it was a pretty rad way to check out what my friends were reading and get suggestions. I think it's also interesting to look at other people's bookshelves, because sometimes you get a glimpse into a side of a person you didn't ever realize existed based on the type of books they like to read. I don't know how the library could make use of it, but as far as recommending it to library patrons, I certainly would. It might be a little bit better for patrons that reading advisory, because it really connects them to their friends, who know them way better than we possibly can. Overall, I think it's a pretty awesome site, and I think the iPhone app version is handy as well.
